Flashes of blue, green and gold...reminiscent of an Ethiopian opal!
 
Dichroic glass was orginailly created for the aerospace industry. 
Crystal quartz and metal oxides are placed on glass and vaporized with an electron beam gun in an airless vacuum chamber. The vapor then floats upward attaching and condensing on the surface of the glass in crystal formations similar to a gemstone. The main characteristic of the glass is that it has a transmitted color that is completely different from it's reflective color.
