End of the Trail
in Sandstone Arch
The iconic image was based on sculptor James Earle Fraser's boyhood memory of an old Dakota trapper telling him 'Someday the Indians will be pushed into the Pacific Ocean'.
The sculpture depicts a weary Indian, which represented his race reaching the end of the trail, at the edge of the Pacific.
The original statue is on display at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Sculpture stands 4.5" x 4"
